Open Art Competition in association with Pallant House Gallery

The Competition is open to artists of all ages and works in all art forms.

Entrance to this competition is subject to agreeing to the full terms and conditions which can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

• The Open Art Competition is open to all UK residents (excluding employees and trustees of St Wilfrid's Hospice).
• Those aged under 18 years old may enter with permission from their parent of guardian.

• Enter by going to the "Enter ompetition" section of this website. Register your details then upload images of your work and pay for your entry securely through PayPal.
• Entrance costs £15 per work. A £10 concessionary entrance fee is available for full time students, under 16s, unemployed, disabled and carers.
• All profits from entry fees will go to St Wilfrid's Hospice.
• All entries must be uploaded by midnight Thursday 31st March 2011.
• You can enter up to three pieces of work.
• The maximum size of a piece of work must be no more than 80cm at its largest point; including the frame if applicable.

Short listing will take place at the start of April 2011.  Entrants whose work is short listed by the selection panel will be notified by Friday 29th April 2011 and will be invited to bring their work in to Pallant House Gallery the weekend of 28th - 29th May 2011.  The exhibition will be hung on Monday 30th May 2011.

After the exhibition has been created, a panel of Judges will award five prizes to the works they feel to be the best in the exhibition of selected works. There will be an awards ceremony, press launch and private view on Thursday 2nd June 2011. The exhibition will then be open until Sunday 3rd July 2011.

Short listed artists each agree that the original works represented by their respective entries may be exhibited and shall be available for sale at Pallant House Gallery between Tuesday 31st May and Sunday 3rd July 2011.

On sales of work the exhibited artists each agree to pay commission of 30% of the selling price to St Wilfrid's Hospice and 20% to Pallant House Gallery’s Outside In Project.

The copyright of all the images submitted for this Competition remains with the respective entrants. However, entrants agree to allow St Wilfrid's Hospice use of the digital image of the work for publicity and promotion following the exhibition, both on the internet and on printed materials.
